The Cross Functional expert, Allan Thomas, who is gaining recognition for his work in making people fitter and healthier says that 30 minutes is all it takes to get your Heart health, Weight loss, Reduce stress, Mood booster, Energy burst, Improve memory, Increase productivity, improve creativity, and improve self-confidence. Says Allan Thomas, “Minimise your risk with a half hour gym session and keep your heart and blood flow happy. it can help you to prevent excess weight gain or maintain weight loss. a quick work out can reduce stress, as well as boost your ability to deal with existing mental tension, delivers oxygen and nutrients to your muscle tissues, exercise increases the production of cells in hippocampus responsible for memory and learning, improve your productivity, outdoor exercise will refresh your mental bandwidth and be your ticket to creative heaven and you body will thank you in the long run.”

Allan further adds, “In the 30 minutes, one can do a variety of activities like moderate aerobic exercise like brisk walking, biking, swimming or vigorous aerobic exercise like running, aerobic dancing or strength training using weight machines, your own body weight, heavy bags, resistance tubing or resistance paddles in the water, or activities such as rock climbing. As a daily goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity. If you want to lose weight, maintain weight loss or meet specific fitness goals, you may need to exercise more but what’s most important is making regular 30 minutes physical activity a part of your lifestyle.”

The start to building a fitness community:

From being a Novice Fitness Enthusiast to transitioning into a Certified Fitness/Life Coach, Allan Thomas set up the Cross Functional fitness centre in Mumbai (the first of its kind in Powai) called ‘Zealbox’ in February 2019. Now, the expert Cross Functional, Strength and Conditioning fitness coach is all set to launch his second fitness centre. It will be located at ‘Emma Sports’ which is Powai’s first multi-sports club that will soon launch in Hiranandani Gardens. With Zealbox recognized by a renowned wellness subscription platform as one of India’s Top 10 fitness facility, Allan has worked with more than 500 members in India and across the world and has developed a strong base of loyal customers in India & abroad in a short span of over two years.

Formative years shaping the future:

Sharing his personal experience of how fitness has helped him train the mind, increase brain function, memory, thinking skills, motivation, positivity, and strength to become a better and responsible human being in all aspects. Speaking about his rebellious teenage years, Allan recollects, “My father, a chemical engineer and successful businessman, who looked after the family business was struggling after his sisters cheated him out of his business and his entire inheritance and we eventually lost him to a heart attack. My mother has been the sole earning member since we were kids.”

Allan Thomas’turning point:

Allan Thomas’ journey from a studious topper to a rebellious teen to a successful corporate career to starting his own business at 24 years of age is one that showcases that nothing is impossible if we work towards it. Allan shares about his early years saying, “My teen years were tough. From being a 98 percent first class student all through school till the 8th grade, I got pulled into doing everything that teens indulge in with friends and my grades dropped. I couldn’t get admission to the college of my choice with average grades in 12th grade. That and my mother’s never-give-up attitude was a wake-up call for me. I enrolled into CrossFit training and it helped me attain strength, endurance and built my mental and physical agility to an all-together new level. I worked all through my graduation and did my post-graduation from MICA despite being in a hectic corporate job. I excelled in my work and saw the results in my body too. I was hooked to fitness! It entered my life as a way of dealing with my frustrations and my needless aggression to all situations and it gripped me by the neck and straightened everything out for me.”

Taking Risks. Follow Your Passion:

Allan quit his career to be an entrepreneur at just 24 years of age. “There’s been no looking back since then seeing the lives I’ve helped transform since I started the first Cross Functional facility in Powai. Covid struck, lockdown stopped all business but I took it online in March 2020 itself and my community of fitness lovers is only growing. I’m going to soon open my second outlet at a multi-sports facility behind Hiranandani Hospital and that is also the first of its kind in Powai.”

Changing Mindsets about Fitness Trainers:

Allan wants to change the mindset and perception that fitness trainers have in India because of the countless untrained people who pass themselves off as fitness experts without knowing the basics of techniques and bring qualified trainers a bad name. He says, “What I teach is very specialised and I’m a trainer to help break myths with the incredible lifetime results that a trainer can achieve for a person.”


The expression of gratitude plays a pivotal role in Allan’s life and he says, “As we grow, we must not forget those who helped us.
